5th National Farmstay Network Conference

On Oct 15–16, the 5th National Farmstay Network Conference took place at Kutuki Public Hall in Takashima, Shiga, hosted by the Saba Kaido Green Tourism Promotion Council and co-hosted by the Japan Farmstay Association. Around 70 practitioners and officials gathered. Day 1 featured case reports from Hitoyoshi and Tono, 7 group discussions, and a panel led by Prof. Emeritus Tatsuji Aoki. Day 2 featured talks by historian Satoshi Ishida and Prof. Hiromiya Ushio on leveraging Saba Kaido’s heritage and diverse talent. The conference concluded with the "Shiga-Kyoto Agenda," establishing guidelines for sustainable community business through quality evaluation and cultural food exchanges.
